General Dermatology

General Dermatology includes all aspects of skin disease, some examples of which are: allergic diseases of the skin, acne, skin cancer, warts, disorders of pigmentation, hair and nail disorders, sexually transmitted diseases, diseases of the mouth and tongue, sweating problems, infections, parasitic diseases, work-related skin conditions, cosmetic dermatology, and pediatric dermatology. Some of these conditions are quite extensive and have resulted in their own specialties and Board Certification is now available for Pediatric Dermatology, Dermatopathology and Moh's Surgery. Because of their sub specialized nature, these disciplines are often only available in larger Universities that offer medical school programs.
